Kings XI Punjab notched up their first win of the competition by beating the Royal Challengers Bangalore in a match at Durban last night.
Batting first the Bangalore team notched up a reasonable 168/9 in their allotted share of twenty overs. The star performer was Jacques Kallis who hit a half century.
In reply, Ravinder Bopara’s cool and composed knock of 84(59) and a lacklustre Bangalore bowling and fielding ensured that the target was easily surpassed. In fact, at one time, 60 runs were needed off the last five overs, and the same was achieved with an over to spare!
Bopara was the obvious choice for Man-of-the-Match
