The 52nd game of the IPL between the Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians will be played at the M Chinnaswamy in Bangalore.
Bangalore (10/11 at Sky Bet to win the game) has 14 points from their 13 games, and though a loss will not put them out of the tournament just yet, they will like to win the match in order to not have to worry too much about the other results. Mumbai (1/1 at William Hill) is already through to the knock-out and apart from the matter of taking a winning momentum into the knock-out game, there is not much at stake for the side.
The one aspect of their game that the Bangalore side does not need to worry too much about is their batting. Robin Uthappa (5/1 at Sky Bet to be the best batsman for Bangalore) has been in the form of his life, while Anil Kumble’s decision to finally play Kevin Pietersen (7/2 at Sky Bet to top-score for Bangalore again) bore immediate dividends in the Rajasthan game. With Jacques Kallis (5/2 at Boylesports to top-score for the Bangalore side) at the second position in the top run-getters, and Rahul Dravid (7/1 at Blue Square to be the best batsman for his side) having stuck form in the previous two games as well, Bangalore know that their top-order is covered.
Mumbai Indians could ring in a few changes to the side given that they have already qualified for the semi-finals. This could include getting in some of the untried players, but one can be rest assured that Sachin Tendulkar (15/8 at Boylesports to top-score for the side) will continue to open the innings! Chandan Madan (16/1 at Stan James to be the best batsman for his side) could be afforded another opportunity at the top, whereas Shikhar Dhawan (6/1 at Blue Square to be the best batsman for Mumbai) will look to comeback into the kind of form he had exhibited earlier.
But all eyes will be on Kieron Pollard (7/1 at Stan James to be the best batsman) after his 13-ball 45 that turned the game against Delhi on its head.
