The BCCI has ruled that it will pardon the Indian cricketers associated with the ICL if they gave up on the league by 31st May, 2009.
However, it also added that the players will not be directly eligible for international selection, but will need to wait for one year to be able to do so.
In this cooling period, they can play domestic cricket, which opens up avenues for the players, as IPL is classified as a domestic player.
The ICL is a rebel league which was formed by Mr. Subhash Chandra’s Essel League and contains players from all over the world including India, Pakistan, New Zealand, Australia, England and South Africa amongst others.
