The Royal Challengers Bangalore beat the Kolkata Knight Riders in a low-scoring thriller at the Kingsmead in Durban.
Batting first, the Knight Riders scored 139/6 in their stipulated 20 overs, thanks to a 40 by Chris Gayle and an unbeaten 43 by debutant Morne wan Vyk.
In reply, the Bangalore innings was propped by a first wicket partnership of 69, but quick wickets saw their chances recede fast.
It was Mark Boucher’s whirlwind 13-ball 25 that sealed the match for Bangalore. He also won the Man-of-the-Match award.
