The Deccan Chargers recorded their third successive win after beating the Mumbai Indians at Kingsmead in Durban.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, the Chargers raced up to a near 100 in the first ten overs, but slow bowlers pulled it back for the Indians and restricted them to 168 in the twenty overs.
In reply, Sanath Jayasuriya left early, but a partnership between Sachin Tendulkar and J.P. Duminy got them back into the match.
Once Duminy was out, Pragyan Ojha ran through the Mumbai Indians batting and restricted them to 156/7 in the twenty overs, thus winning the match by 12 runs. Ojha’s three-wicket haul won him the Man-of-the-Match award.
