Gayle wants to give up captaincy for T20

Chris Gayle has said that he will not mind giving up on his captaincy in order to prolong his T20 career. He has also warned his English counterpart, Andrew Strauss to keep off his business.

Strauss had earlier commented something to the effect of questioning Gayle’s commitment to test cricket after the West Indian captain had landed just one day before the test match began.

Gayle also commented that he did not care too much about the longest format of the game, and said, “To be honest with you, there’s a possibility I might give it up – I will be giving it up, shortly”

Incidentally, England beat West Indies in the first test match at Lord’s by ten wickets.
