The IPL has decided to crack down on teams who do not complete their overs on time and impose hefty fines on the captains and in some cases the entire team as well. The IPL council has announced that for the first transgression, the captain will be fined $20,000, while for the second one, the entire team will have to pay that much penalty. Third time around this happens for a team during the tournament, the captain will be banned for a match and the fine will be increased to $360,000, making it absolutely imperative for the teams to finish their overs in the stipulated 80 minutes.
