The ICC has rejected ICL’s bid to be gain official status at the meeting between the top ICC officials in Dubai. They have also said that any such decision needs to be taken by the respective country cricket board. The ICC's chief executive, Haroon Lorgat, said, “The board gave the matter careful consideration but, looking at the criteria set out in the regulations, felt the application for approval could not be granted.” The ICL has reacted to this by saying that they were disappointed and will challenge this decision of the ICC in the court.
