The fate of the status of the Indian Cricket League (ICL) will be discussed at the ICC this week at their executive meeting and a decision could soon be arrived. The ICL has threatened to sue the ICC if their case wasn’t heard and if they weren’t allowed the same official status as the Indian Premier League. The group that heads the ICL, Essel group, has given up to the 1st of June for the ICC to respond to it, and the status does not change then the Essel group will have no option but to take the ICC to court. BCCI hasn’t approved the functioning of ICL even since its inception in 2007 and the ICC has been washing its hands off the matter by saying that it is an issue that the BCCI needs to resolve internally.
