IPL time-outs will be reduced

IPLpro Staff - 6 May 2009
The commissioner of the Indian Premier League has said that the 7.5 minute-long time-outs will be reduced for the semi-finals and the finals of the tournament.

Instead, there will be two time-outs of two and a half minutes each. The first time-out will be taken at the end of the six-over mark, where as the second time-out will be at the discretion of the fielding team.

Earlier, there was a seven and a half minute long strategy break at the end of the tenth over. Many of the teams had complained to the IPL about losing momentum during these time-outs; most famous of whom were Sachin Tendulkar, V.B Chandrashekhar and Tom Moody.
