Indian sports minister unhappy with IPL

Indian Sports Minister, M.S. Gills has expressed his unhappiness at IPL’s new SMS game in which the cricket fans in the country are expected to predict the runs scored off each ball of an over.

Gill has said that this game equated to gambling, which is not legal in India. He also said that while commercialisation of the sport was necessary, this latest introduced game would encourage betting and cause disgrace.

He said, “The actions of the BCCI are bound to impact the thinking in other sports, sometime or the other. We have already had a match-fixing scandal in the game.”
