Kings XI Punjab capitulate to 119/9

IPLpro Staff - 12 May 2009

The Kings XI Punjab lost out on a good start provided to them by rookie, Sunny Sohal and were bowled out by the Mumbai Indians for 119.

The Kings had decided to bat first after winning the toss, and Sohal launched into the Mumbai bowlers by smashing five boundaries and three sixes. However, once he perished for 43, the rest of the batsmen fared miserably against the spin of Harbhajan Singh, Ajinkya Rahane and J.P.Duminy.

Bhajji took one wicket but conceded only nine runs in four overs, where as Duminy took two wickets, including that of Yuvraj Singh to leave the opponents struggling.

The ground fielding of Mumbai was excellent as well, with all the catches taken to go with two run-outs.
