No interest in Pakistan

With tensions simmering between Indian and Pakistani governments related to the 26/11 attacks, the latter had banned its players from going to India for the IPL. In turn the teams had suspended the player contracts, making it a tournament without any Pakistani player. This has meant that there has been no interest amongst the people of Pakistan to follow the tournament at all; reducing viewership in a major cricket-following country.
