Defending champions Rajasthan Royals were crushed by a united looking Bangalore Royal Challengers side, by 75 runs. Kevin Pietersen had no hesitation in batting first after winning the toss and though it did seem that his decision may back-fire, a very well made half century by veteran Rahul Dravid ensured that the RCBs got to 133 in their twenty overs.

In reply, the Royals lost their first couple of wickets very early to Praveen Kumar and never recovered enough. Anil Kumble polished off the tail with amazing match figures of 5/5, as the Royals were shot out for 58; the lowest score of the IPL ever.
